Lobbying Policy
Dental Lace does not currently engage in lobbying or efforts to influence government policy or legislation. This policy outlines our approach should that ever change in the future, as well as our current stance on related activities.
a) Purpose of Lobbying: Dental Lace does not currently lobby. If we were to engage in lobbying in the future, we would only do so in ways that contribute to a positive impact on society or the environment.
b) Basis for Lobbying Approach: Any future lobbying activity would be guided by reliable and/or scientific data to ensure our positions are well-informed and credible.
c) Political Contributions: Dental Lace does not make financial or in-kind political contributions of any kind.
d) Anti-Corruption and Bribery: Dental Lace maintains a zero-tolerance approach to corruption and bribery in all business dealings, both domestically and internationally.
e) Use of Intermediary Organizations: Dental Lace does not currently work with intermediary organizations, lobbyists, or trade associations for lobbying purposes. Should this change, any such relationship would be required to operate in a manner consistent with this policy.
f) Policy Review: This policy is reviewed annually by Janice Johnston, Owner of Dental Lace, who serves as the sole governing decision-maker for company policy.
Governance, Control, and Risk Management
a) Accountability Janice Johnston, Owner of Dental Lace, is the executive accountable for enforcing this policy.
b) Embedding the Policy As a small, owner-operated company, Dental Lace embeds this policy by ensuring all business decisions are made directly by the Owner, who is responsible for confirming that no lobbying, political contribution, or related activity takes place without first being evaluated against this policy.
c) Identifying and Managing Risk Dental Lace identifies and manages risk of non-compliance by maintaining direct oversight of all company communications, partnerships, and financial activity. Given the company's small size and centralized decision-making, the Owner personally reviews any external request or relationship that could relate to lobbying or political activity before it is acted upon.
d) Evaluating Compliance Compliance with this policy is evaluated through the Owner's ongoing review of company activities and the annual policy review described above. Any concerns identified are addressed immediately by the Owner.
e) Stakeholder Concerns Stakeholders who have concerns about Dental Lace's business conduct or lobbying practices can raise them directly with the Owner, in accordance with the company's Dental Lace Stakeholder Grievance Procedure.
