If enough of us refuse the plastic "goody" bag then oral care professionals will stop purchasing them from their distributors. Refuse the samples and tell them about Dental Lace. We have designed a sustainable alternative to the little plastic bag you get at the end of a routine dental cleaning. The kit is designed for oral care professionals as an easy switch from harmful plastic goodie bags. It's all about eliminating plastic oral care products. We will be presenting the kits to Dentists but we need your help to spread the word. Plastic oral care is a big problem. One billion toothbrushes are thrown away every year in the U.S., that is enough to stretch around the Earth 4 times. If every person in the U.S. who flosses their teeth according to ADA recommendations, just the empty floss dispensers alone would fill a landfill the size of a football field six stories high.

Each year The Maine Small Business Administration recognizes small businesses for their work. Businesses awarded Exporter of the Year represent the nations strong entrepreneurial spirit and rich diversity. Maine is known for exporting lobster, blueberries, potatoes and now dental floss. This year Dental Lace Inc. was awarded the 2020 Exporter of the Year Award for exporting Dental Lace Refillable Floss to 40 countries, with 6 international distributors. We are extremely honored to receive this award and will treasure the letter of congratulations from Senator Susan Collins.
Project Upcycle brings emerging designers together to foster connections, encourage creativity, and inspire growth. They hope to "plant the seeds" for sustainable fashion in New England (and beyond), and cultivating a community of informed consumers looking for ways to make better choices.
