Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

From Our Shores to Yours
We're Wishing You Peace, Love and Joy in 2024

As we say goodbye to 2023, we here at Dental Lace have so much to be thankful for. First, we would like to say a big thank you to our 1,350 first time customers, as well as our almost 6,000 returning customers for choosing to shop at dentallace.com. It makes us so happy to see so many people choosing our products instead of wasteful plastic floss. We thank you for your support, and we hope that we can continue to be your preferred floss oral hygiene company in 2024.

Next we would like to acknowledge the support of our many new and returning retailers for believing in us, and aiding us in our mission to change the dental floss market. Thank you, and may 2024 be another good year for us all.

Looking back, we were very busy in 2023. Along with our continued effort to spread our zero waste message and improve people's oral health, we have been working on applications for B Corp and Woman Owned Small Business Certification. Also, as of 2023, our application for USDA Bio-preferred Certification has been approved. Now we can proudly state that we are certified USDA Bio-Preferred.

Unfortunately, not everything has been great for us. Last year we were forced to reduce our staff down to only a few people who we felt were absolutely essential in running our business. We also saw some of our wholesale customers opting to create their own floss products instead of continuing to work with us. It’s all part of doing business, but it still makes things stressful some days. Thankfully our team is resilient, and we were able to continue our offerings to customers without a hitch.

At Dental Lace Inc. we are all looking forward to another healthy year.

Dental Lace® Sustainable Countdown

In order to keep our zero waste resolution/mission, each year we track our waste. Over the years, we have improved in our mission using these methods.

10) Educating our politicians of the harms of plastic dental floss

9) Refusing plastic-filled “goodie bags” at workshops, and trade shows.

8) Recycling printer ink cartridges instead of throwing them away

7) Reusing shipping boxes whenever possible

6) Composting rejected or returned silk and plant-based floss, as well as packaging

5) Recycling any boxes and envelopes that can’t be reused.

4) Refusing plastic tape from vendors inventory shipments

3) Recycling masks and gloves using Terra Cycle

2) Using Recyclable trash can liners made from 100% recycled plastic.

1) Use sustainable energy with our 3 energy saving heat pumps.

2024 Trash Challenge

In 2024, I will once again be challenging myself to use less plastic. For those who don’t know, over the past few years, my husband and I have made it our goal to only create enough trash in our household to fill a single 30 Gallon bin for the entire year. Truth be told, I’ve run into challenges a few times in the past since trash, unfortunately, can be unavoidable. But I’ve learned a few new things over the past year that I hope to implement into my goal for 2024.

I challenge you to try this. Sometimes helping save the planet can be overwhelming but this challenge is actually fun and a morale booster. If everyone did this, just imagine the difference it would make in the world.

Happy New Year!
